The Community Foundation of North Lee County is a community foundation affiliate of the Community Foundation of the Great River Bend in Davenport, Ia. The foundation was organized by and for local citizens to partner with donors and other foundations at work in North Lee County today. It is structured to allow donors flexibility to direct contributions to the area they want to benefit while allowing them to maintain association with their gifts if they so desire.

Thanks to our donors and Partners, our Foundation has just passed $3 million in assets.

Scholarship Opportunity

Lawrence and Marilyn Matteson Foundation Scholarship

Scholarships are available for graduating seniors from among the following high schools: Central Lee, Danville, Fort Madison, Keokuk, Mediapolis, Mount Pleasant, New London, Waco, Wapello, Winfield and home school students who live in these school districts. Students entering 2-year degree or certificate programs in fields like construction, technology, industrial production, electronics, or similar fields are eligible to apply. Scholarships will be made for either $1000 or $2000 on a competitive basis. Students who make adequate academic progress can qualify for a second year of funding, at the same amount as the first year.

For the 2012-13 academic year, applications will be accepted until June 10, 2012. A panel of volunteers who live in the Lee County region will review applications and select recipients. Recipients will be notified by the end of June and scholarship checks mailed to the student's college or program by the end of August, 2012.
